The company is producing a series of employee safety videos designed to increase the Situational Awareness that all employees need to have when on the job. Here’s the second, entitled: “It Was Only Water” starring VRR Vice President Rob Bradway with special guest Kevin Carpenter, and filmed by VRR employee Mike Missett.
Uniform supplies are now all fully here, so, if you have not yet picked-up your uniform, please do so ASAP. You can contact Eric Roesch at ext. 207 or email at eroesch@essexsteamtrain.com to arrange for pick-up or if you have questions.
Those of you that will be attending the July 13th Active Shooter tabletop exercise in River Valley Junction, or whose staff will, please go to this link – https://essex-ttx.tsaistep.net/ and register. TSA put this together in order to get a headcount, which will also help John know how much food to prepare. It takes only 30 seconds to fill out the online “form.”
Thank you, Paul
Reminder: During Lunch Train operation, upon return of the 11:00 train – after the steam engine pins off, goes through the spring switch and up onto Track 5, the fireman should re-align and lock the south spring switch for the main track. This will allow for the returning lunch train to proceed south through the yard over to Track 6 without springing the switch.
When the 12:30 train returns, the fireman can re-align the spring switch for Track 5 once the steam engine passes through it – the fireman is on the ground anyways.
This procedure will eliminate a full lunch train springing through the switch, as well as one light engine move. It also reduces the likelihood of an incident should the lunch train have to stop short of the crossing while springing the switch.
